Gemmaline is special. The daughter of a powerful white witch, Gemma has a rare, covetable gift that many immortals would go to great lengths to control. No one knows her secret, and she intends to keep it that way. Gemma and Viktor’s love is the stuff of legends. She wants nothing more than for them to be married and spend the rest of their days together in their small, peaceful village. When a dark mage/vampire appears and threatens those she loves, Gemma has no choice. She must make the ultimate sacrifice and leave her home – and her beloved – to save them. Gemma is the center of Viktor’s world. Nothing is going to stop him from getting her back. There is no price too high to pay, for Viktor believes their love is strong enough to overcome anything – even mortality. Five hundred years later, that belief is put to the ultimate test. But it may already be too late… Review: This book packed a punch right to my heart. Emma and Viktor’s story is one of my favorites. It’s short, and I wish it were so much longer as they have so many untold adventures throughout the years, but this is their story, so anything longer would lose the value of the story. I don’t think that makes sense, but it will once you read it. One chapter heading had me walking away from the book, feeling choked up on tears. I’m not going to give it away, but three little words broke the dam on my emotions. Many years pass from the beginning of this book until the end, and we see Emma and Viktor change much. They go from being innocent to heartless. It’s really sad to see all their innocence and beauty lost. However, their hearts aren’t totally gone, just not with them. Ugh! I can’t explain without giving anything away. It’s just a really emotional, heavy, yet fast-paced read that will have you depressed throughout. It is a happy ending, though, so there is that. 5 Stars!!!
